With probably the largest fleet of hire bikes for cycling on the coastal routes in Denbighshire & Conwy. We specialise in group hire for Schools, Scouts, Guides, Military groups, Family or Friends, Corporate or works events plus Stag and Hen parties. We are able to deliver bikes along Route 5 to most Towns or Visitor attractions plus Hotels, B&B, Holiday Homes or Holiday Parks with many route options it is a great place for touring along the coast. To hire bikes we require credit/debit card details as a form of deposit, and the ID of the cardholder such as driving license or passport.
Note by UK National law no person under the age of 14 years may ride an electric bike. Buster’s Cycles however will not hire or permit the use of any Electric Bike for anyone under 18 years.
E Mountain Bike Hire – Deposit scheme
When hiring electric mountain bikes you may be required to make a cash or credit card pre payment/deposit per booking when collecting the bike(s) . This cash payment will be refunded on safe return of the bikes(s) (less the amount charged for the bike rental). For card deposit payments In normal circumstances your bank will cancel this pre-payment transaction immediately but you are advised to check with your bank that the refund has taken place as with some banks the cancellation may take a couple of days to process.
You will be required to leave either a driving licence, passport, credit or debit card (in your name) for the duration of the hire period. The ID must display your signature. Your ID will be kept securely until your return. Our staff will be unable to hire any bikes without one of the above.
All the mountain bikes at Buster’s Cycles are mainly hardtails meaning they have suspension on the front forks but not at the back and the brakes operate through Mechanical Discs or have Cantilever style with brake blocks on the front and back wheels.
They are suitable for all of the cycleways and roads along the coastal Path Route 5 (unless adverse weather or path way condition dictate otherwise) however we do not believe they are suitable for those of you wishing to ride mountain trails, downhill trails or extremely rough footpaths and wilderness trails & you should consider the full suspension options offered by other hire companies.
The bikes have no suspension and are designed for smooth roads or pathways and have thinner wheels for better rolling motion & commonly with larger wheels. Ideal for longer journey when you wish more speed and less rolling resistance. Care must be taken when encountering loose sand etc. As this can be a skid hazard.
A brilliant combination of traditional and modern, the electric bikes are commonplace in many European countries, but still a bit of a rarity in the UK. You still need to pedal, but after a couple of rounds, the motor kicks in and it feels as though someone is, very gently, pushing you forwards. Turn the electric up a gear and a difficult hill becomes easily negotiable, and once more, and you can reach a speed of up to 15mph. At Busters we only hire e-Bikes to adults 18 years or more.
Bike security users responsibility
All bikes and equipment supplied by Buster’s Cycles are the responsibility of the hirer for the duration of the hire. Bike locks can be supplied on request subject to availability and we strongly recommend that bikes are locked if left unattended.
